The e-Estonia Live webinar series is hosted weekly on our e-Estonia Facebook page, where we connect with Estonian state experts and company representatives to discuss current issues and the developments within e-Estonia.

In recent years, the conversation on the future of Estonia’s digital development has evolved around creating a seamless state. At the core of this vision are proactive services. But what are proactive services? Why have they become a topic of discussion? And what is the foundation upon which they can be built?

This week, we brought together public and private sector representatives to discuss these questions and Estonia’s experience thus far. Janek Rozov, Strategy Director at the Information Technology and Development Centre of The Ministry of Interior, also deemed “the father of proactive services,” reveals how this process began in Estonia and what have been the main challenges.

Andre Krull, Managing Director at Nortal, shares his insights from the perspective of a company for which “building a seamless society” is the main vision. As such Andre presents practical examples of what it means to build proactive services. He also touches upon services that have already been rolled out, some of which in a matter of only a few days after the onset of the corona-crisis.
