Estonian Startup, one of the WSA-Mobile 2016 Winners

PocoPay, the mobile banking app aiming to take on Europe’s high street giants, is one of the forty winners at the 2016 World Summit Awards-Mobile.

Timbeter, Bike-ID, Like a Local, Pocopay, Vitalfields, e-Residency and Lingvist represented Estonia at the World Summit Awards- Mobile, where PocoPay has come up with a triumph on Business and Commerce category. 365 mobile applications from different countries were honored in a global gathering of the best minds with brilliant solutions at the WSA Mobile Congress, held in Barcelona last 27 February- 2 March.

PocoPay, launched in 2016, is founded by the former banker Indrek Neivelt and the IT expert Linnar Viik. More like a payment institution, rather than a fully payment bank, Pocopay provides users with simple and fast money transfers in the Eurozone. Customers can get a contact-free MasterCard debit card and an account with an IBAN where they can manage their money, split the bills in restaurants, and request money using email, mobile number and simple QR codes.

Today you can open a Pocopay account in Estonia, the Netherlands, Spain and Finland, and in the near future in other European countries.
