Estonia: Setting the Standard for e-Governance

Estonia’s number one ranking in Digital Public Services according to the latest European Commission’s DESI report, is a good measure of the capabilities of this small Baltic nation. After a visit to Estonia, Tony Moretta from Digital Jersey writes about his impressions of the digital services offered in Estonia.

In his blog, “What Can We Learn from Estonia” he details his impressions of the e-Government system and lessons he learned as he spoke with Siim Sikkut, Digital Policy Advisor for the Estonian Government. Moretta details his “dream list” of e-Governance, these include digital identity, connected databases, and transparency. He hopes to expand e-Governance in Jersey that is “Estonian-inspired.”

The Briefing Centre is conveniently located just a 2-minute drive from the airport and around 10- to 15-minute drive from the city centre.
