Estonian ICT Demo Center has turned three!

The ICT Demo Center, a leading network for marshaling efforts in the IT and communications field in both the private and public sector, turned three this week.

It was on January 29, 2009, that President Toomas Hendrik Ilves opened the centre at Ülemiste City business park. Today it consists of 36 members. It has hosted 648 delegations, and in 2011, 90 percent of the delegations were from abroad.

As the name would indicate, Estonia's IT success stories continue to be touted in the center's headquarters, but the range of activities is broader.

The ICT Export Cluster that is part of the Center has been active in marketing and raising the profile of companies at conferences. Five market surveys were conducted and the e-Estonia trademark and website were developed.

In 2012, the Export Cluster plans to start organizing morning seminars in Brussels, issuing a quarterly newsletter and inventorying past and future products in cooperation with the Economic Affairs Ministry, said CEO Indrek Vimberg.

Founding members of the Demo Center include MicroLink Eesti AS, Santa Monica Networks AS, Datel AS, Elion Ettevõtted AS, EMT AS, Microsoft Estonia and Ülemiste City.
